The Neuroscience within Trauma and Addiction
This 1.5-hour webinar offers a neuroscience perspective on the link between trauma and addiction, examining their interlocking pathways in the brain and body. It covers the role of attachment, epigenetics, and the neurobiological mechanisms underlying addiction. Polyvagal Theory and the science of interpersonal neurobiology will give us an appreciation of the importance of healthy connection with others, specifically the family and marital systems, as one fundamentalcomponent of healing.
Presenter
Dr. Jeff Hansen, Ph.D., is a Pediatric and Adolescent Clinical Psychologist with a B.A. in psychology from the University of California at Berkeley, an M.A. in psychology and a Ph.D. in clinical psychology from the University of Arkansas. With over 42 years of clinical, graduate education, training and supervision experience, he is a licensed psychologist in the State of Washington. His expertise spans pediatric, adolescent, and adult psychology, with a focus on military service members and their families.
