Principal Therapist Bonnie Lee, PhD Registered Marriage and Family Therapist & Supervisor Registered Social Worker, Alberta College of Social Workers Registered Social Worker, Ontario College of Social Workers
I am a therapist with over 25 years of experience in counselling individuals, couples and families. I am also Professor in Health Sciences, Addictions and Mental Health Counselling at the University of Lethbridge, teaching courses in Couple and Family Counselling, Religion and Spirituality, Addictions Counselling, Mental Health and Health Promotion.
Individuals and couples build a good rapport with me readily, and were impressed by how quickly I could get to the heart of their issues. This allows them to make meaningful progress from the very first session.
As a researcher, author, keynote speaker and trainer at international conferences and workshops in North America, Europe, Asia and Australia, I bring a high level of professional knowledge and wisdom to serve clients seeking growth and healing. I have received 7 international appointments with universities in the US, Asia and Europe.
I am the developer of an integrative, evidence-based Congruence Therapy model based on the work of Virginia Satir, a pioneer in family therapy. Congruence means to be aware of self, other, and the influence of one's past. Using a communication typology that sheds light on one's communication style, clients become more effective in their relationships and in navigating the complexities of daily living with confidence. This holistic and transformative therapy has an evidence base demonstrating positive clinical outcomes with those struggling with emotion regulation, self-worth, relationships and mental health/addiction issues.
